The 10-Minute Body Breakthrough by Sean Foy arms readers with everything needed to lose weight, get fit, and improve health in mere minutes a day.

Is it possible to lose weight, tone up, and improve health in just 10 minutes per day? According to Foy, it’s not only doable, but long workouts are out of the question. Foy promises readers that by performing his 10-minute workouts and following a few nutritional principles anyone can: lose weight, improve flexibility, burn excess fat, improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels, increase endurance and stamina, and boost energy and metabolism.

Foy’s 4-3-2-1 Program

The 10-Minute Total Body Breakthrough workouts are based on interval training, combining aerobics, resistance training, strengthening and stretching, all in just 10 minutes per day. The workouts are fully customizable and are broken down into 1 to 4 minute segments:

  • 4 minutes of high-energy aerobics
  • 3 minutes of resistance exercise
  • 2 minutes of core-strengthening exercises
  • 1 minute stretching and deep breathing

Users of the 4-3-2-1 Program will advance through three levels and fancy equipment is not required. During Level I, only bodyweight is used to perform the 10-minute workouts. As users gain strength, some minimal equipment will be needed. For Level II, users can use equipment such as a resistance band, jump rope or stability ball. Equipment options for Level III include dumbbells, barbells or a medicine ball.

Using Food as Fuel

In The 10-Minute Total Body Breakthrough, Foy suggests readers only think of food as fuel and before eating, ask the question, “Am I eating this for energy or for enjoyment?” Foy offers no “diet,” but instead strategies to start new and healthy eating habits to provide the body with the nutrition it needs and is also conducive to weight loss, toning up, and getting fit.

Foy also explains the importance of eating healthy foods, how to build a healthy meal, tips for eating out, snacking, and choosing supplements. Healthy fruit smoothie recipes are also included.

Stages of Change and Taking Action

Unlike typical workout books, Foy addresses the stages of change one often goes through before taking action to lose weight, starting an exercise program or taking steps to improve overall health. Foy outlines the most common excuses used to avoid eating right or exercising and offers solutions to breakthrough roadblocks.

Overall, The 10-Minute Total Body Breakthrough is an easy-to-read, exhaustive guide for losing weight, toning up, and improving health. Foy offers readers a program which incorporates short, personalized workouts and sound nutritional principles in the form of small, simple steps anyone can take.
